Creating healthier lives, together
We are making healthcare simpler for individuals served by Medicaid, State Children's Health Insurance Program and other State-sponsored health programs. We also serve individuals who are Medicare-eligible.
We believe everyone deserves a medical "home" that goes beyond just providing access to care but also includes the services and supports people need to live healthier lives.
First, we listen
Person-centered, holistic care that addresses social determinants of health begins with caring enough to listen. Our approach of listening first ensures that we understand the priorities and needs of our members, providers, state partners, and communities so that together we can create solutions that truly make a difference.
Advancing quality
Beyond improving access to care, our quality strategies and programs help individuals live their best lives by supporting their health goals and priorities. Wellpoint is also an industry leader in collaborating with providers to create value-based payment models that result in enhanced care and better health for our members.
Strengthening communities
We know from experience that the best innovations are fueled through partnerships. Our local model means our associates live and work in the communities we serve, and our local presence informs our approach to everything we do, shaping our fundamental belief in the power of integrated support and healthy communities.
The states we serve
As one of the nation’s leading health plans, Wellpoint serves millions of members in state-sponsored programs across the nation.

Nourishing Healthier Lives
In Middle Tennessee alone, more than 400,000 people are food-insecure and almost 40% of them are children. That’s why Wellpoint is working with The Store, founded by Brad Paisley and wife Kimberly Williams-Paisley in partnership with Belmont University and others to identify innovative solutions that help improve lives and communities. The Store provides free grocery items to help Nashville families, allowing them to gain access to nutritious food. Wellpoint will continue to support and advise The Store as it implements programs to address food insecurity in Nashville.
