Working together for healthy communities in WA

There are many ways to stay healthy. That’s why Wellpoint is dedicated to helping you get the care you need. With Wellpoint, you can continue to get your healthcare from tribal and urban Indian health programs. In fact, we’ll pay for them.

Care that works for you and your tribe

We're the first health plan in Washington state to honor traditional healing benefits for American Indians and Alaska Natives, including:

Smudging

Sweat lodge

Acupuncture

Talking Circle and storytelling

Naturopathic or traditional medicine

Plus, all Wellpoint benefits

Muckleshoot First Food, a breastfeeding campaign, is a peer lactation program. It incorporates cultural practices with the Women, Infants and Children's (WIC) program. We're partnering with the Muckleshoot Tribe, Public Health, and Multi-care to preserve these cultural practices.

The two-year campaign includes:

Continuous breastfeeding trainings

Support groups in the community

Cooking classes

Resource development for the native community

Making it easy to get care
