Mental health resources with Wellpoint
Caring for your mental health is as important as looking after your physical health. It's common to face difficulties with mental health, such as stress and depression. Getting the right help is key, as it factors into your overall health. Good support can lead to improvements in your quality of life.
Wellpoint's behavioral health services can help you find support. Make sure you are getting the most from your insurance benefits, which often include mental healthcare.
Your Wellpoint mental health and therapy coverage
Most Wellpoint insurance plans include help for your behavioral and mental health. This means you have many tools to support your mental health at lower costs, from in-person and online counseling to more specialized treatments.
Knowing how your Wellpoint plan can help with mental health is a good start to feeling better overall. To learn more about how your plan can help your mental health and find a therapist, log into your member portal or download the SydneySM Health app.
You can also call the Member Services number on your insurance ID card to speak with a representative about your Wellpoint mental health coverage.
Online mental health services
If you’d rather not talk to a therapist in-person, many Wellpoint plans also cover mental health services you can get online. As a Wellpoint member, you can talk to a therapist over the phone or video chat, privately and right from your own home. This makes taking care of your mind convenient, even when you're busy. This way, you can put your mental health first. You can use your Wellpoint behavioral health services tools to find a new therapist to talk to online. Or, if you already see a therapist you like, you can ask them if they offer online visits.
Coverage for online mental health services depends on your health plan benefits. You can sign into your member portal, visit Sydney Health, or call the number on the back of your insurance card to see what help is included. When checking your portal or using the app, remember that some plans offer a service called LiveHealth Online for telehealth visits, which also includes mental health help too.
